In Moscow at the 51st year of life died filmmaker Sergei Govorukhin, Russian media reported.
As previously reported in the Directors Guild of Russian filmmakers Union, Govorukhin suffered a stroke and the last time was in a coma.
Reports of his death appeared in last Friday, 21 October, but then the doctors said that the film is in a coma after a brain haemorrhage in very serious condition.
As reported by Interfax, on Monday, the state Director has deteriorated.
Russian film Director, screenwriter, writer and social activist Sergei Govorukhin was born on 1 September 1961 in Odessa.
He is the son of a famous Soviet and Russian film Director Stanislav Govorukhin and actress Juno Karevoll.
In 1988 Sergei Govorukhin graduated from the screenwriting faculty at the Russian state University of cinematography (VGIK). Already six years later, in 1994, started shooting a film about modern wars in Russia.
In February 1995 in Grozny when returning from filming Govorukhin was seriously injured, the doctors had to amputate his leg.
From 1994 to 2005 as a war correspondent participated in combat operations in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Yugoslavia and Chechnya.
For the military services Govorukhin was awarded the order of Courage, medals "For courage", "For military valour", "For participation in the antiterrorist operation" and others.
In the film Sergei Govorukhin debuted artistic and journalistic film "Damned and forgotten", released in 1998.
As a Director, screenwriter and producer worked on the films "Nobody but us... ", "Earth people".
Also wrote prose and was actively involved in social activities, was a member of the presidential Council for the promotion of civil society institutions and human rights, President of the Fund for veterans of armed conflicts "Rokada".
