Men who regularly brush their teeth, thereby reducing the risk of gum disease, less likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction than their less responsible to gather. New research has shown that men suffering from inflammation of the gums, three times more likely to have problems with erection. Turkish scientists who conducted the study compared 80 men aged 30-40 years, which saw erectile dysfunction, with a control group of 82 men without problems with sexual health.
Sexual function of men was evaluated using the International index of erectile function and gum health using the plaque index, bleeding gums and so on, it was Found that 53 % of men with the disease was inflammation of the gums, compared with 23 % in the control group. When the results were adjusted for factors such as age, body mass index, income and education level, it was found that people with periodontal disease are three times more likely to suffer from problems with erections than those with healthy gums.
Experts from Turkish University concluded that erectile dysfunction is one of the main health problems that affect the quality of life of 150 million people worldwide, including their partners. In two thirds of cases are guilty of physical factors (for the most part, problems with blood vessels) and psychological problems (stress and depression). Many studies have shown that chronic periodontitis may cause vascular diseases, and they, in turn, lead to violations of sexual function in men.
