New Zealand scientists from the University of Otago came to the conclusion that middle-aged women gain weight because we eat too fast.
The experiment lasted more than two years. It was attended by 1,500 women.
The researchers compared data on age, race, habits, sports training, menopause and found that the rate of food intake had the greatest impact on body weight. The sooner women ate, the faster they grew fat.
According to study leader, this may be due to the formation of the hormone of satiety. If you slowly chew the food, the brain manages to be satisfied before people will consume excessive calories.
