The researchers collected information about the centenarians living in America. They were interested mainly psychological and social factors influencing life extension.




Between 2001 and 2009 were studied 244 people aged 100 years and older. The study showed that critical life events and how to adapt them people are of key importance for the explanation of successful aging.




Scientists say that the most important role in the longevity plays with our perception of reality. Of course, another important factor is genetics


If the ancestors have lived a long life, man has a lot of chance to prolong its existence. But the response to stress means, at least, not less. If people have a positive perception of life in youth and in old age, and everywhere finds its advantages, his chances of longevity increase.
