A healthy lifestyle leads to early menopause

We believe that sport and diet is something that is definitely useful, prolong youthfulness and improve the quality of life. But it turned out that actually it's not so obvious - a new study by Japanese scientists have shown that women who do a lot of sports and prefer healthy food only, earlier the menopause!

A healthy lifestyle leads to early menopause

The study involved 3 100 women aged 35-56, have not yet reached menopause monitored for 10 years. It turned out that women who regularly practiced 8-10 hours a week, 17% higher chance of developing menopause than lazy.

Similarly, women who ate the most foods rich in polyunsaturated fats (especially rich in vegetable oils and fish), the probability of early menopause was 15% higher.

Joan Manson, President of the North American society for the study of menopause, explains that such a healthy lifestyle reduces the level of estrogen, and it's not too bad. High levels of this hormone can cause the development of breast cancer, and this largely explains why women who have early menopause, much lower risk of developing breast cancer.

On the other hand, early menopause increases the risk of heart disease and reduce bone density. However, Manson convinced that this is not a reason to abandon a healthy lifestyle:

"I don't want women thought that if they exercise, they dramatically increase the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis, " she says. - The benefits of a healthy lifestyle, far outweigh the disadvantages".

Manson also stressed that this study does not prove the existence of a clear causal link between a healthy lifestyle and menopause, and admits that there could play a role and other factors, according to DailyMail.co.uk.
