Physical inactivity kills along with Smoking

More than 90 000 people in Britain die each year from diseases associated with lack of physical activity. Among them: heart disease, breast cancer, colon cancer and diabetes. For comparison: Smoking provokes about 100,000 deaths per year.

Experts say that every man has two and a half hours a week to do the exercises, and a lot of walking. In addition, doctors recommend to go to work by bike.

The study, published in the journal The Lancet, shows that one in every ten deaths in the world is associated with lack of physical activity (5, 3 million of the 57 million deaths). One of the six deaths from breast cancer, and every tenth from heart disease triggered by a sedentary lifestyle, scientists have found.
