Women's happiness is inherited

Women's happiness is inheritedScientists have identified a gene, low intensity which makes women happier than men. They suggest that this may be the reason that women are often more positive.

Scientists from the University of South Florida (USF), the National Institute of health (NIH), Columbia University and Institute of psychiatry of the new York state reported that the gene monoamine oxidase (MAO) is associated with the nature of man

"This is the main gene happiness in women, " said associate Professor of epidemiology and biostatistics, Henian Chen, who led the study. I was surprised by the result, because low expression of MAO was associated with negative consequences such as alcoholism, aggressiveness and antisocial behavior. This new finding may help to explain gender differences and to provide a deeper understanding of the links between specific genes and human happiness.
