You'd probably would like to learn to think in a positive way, i.e. to be able to see the positive side in any real-life events and situations, to be able to find the sources of positive emotions and feelings, to be aware of the temporality and the brevity of the trouble and believe in their own abilities and possibilities to overcome any of life's circumstances.
Positive thinking can often be observed in the so-called optimists who believe that the difficulties can be overcome, short-term and usually due to some combination of circumstances or the actions of other people. You also most likely can be attributed to people who have a pessimistic Outlook on life. And if so, the positive training method of thinking will require a long and hard work, aimed at the changing point of view, life attitudes and strategies.
How you can start
To start with emotions. So, you can use the well-known method of "positive attitude": daily and constantly tell myself that every day you become better and better (without any evidence, and even if the evidence suggests otherwise). If you are able to take positive attitudes to faith - the better for you.
Keep a diary of pleasant events: within two weeks spend five minutes a day for entries, you can do this at night before bedtime. In the notebook must be at least 14 blank pages - one for each day. Touch in memory the events of the last days and describe from one to five moments when you felt gratitude.
For example, "grateful for morning revival, the generosity of my friends, "I thank God for what he gave me determination", "grateful for the good health". Journal entries improve mood and degree of satisfaction with life.
Take for a rule: once a month (and then more) spend a whole day of my life, to dedicate it to your loved ones pleasure. Think about everything in advance, write for yourself the exact plan. Use as many techniques and methods to increase the pleasure.
And don't let hectic life to interfere and ruin. Calculate the "optimal" for each pleasure.
You can offer some practical advice:
- Share your feelings. Find someone who could share the fun. From this it will certainly become deeper.
- Create and save your memories. Mentally "take pictures" of what is happening, capturing it in memory, or bring some souvenir, then, looking at him, to tell your friends about the experience.
- Rejoice for yourself. Feel free magnificence, splendor of their experiences. Remind yourself what effect did they have on others and how long you've been waiting for this happy moment.
- Sharpen your sensitivity. Focus on certain feelings, rejecting all others. Listening to music, close your eyes.
- Surrender to the feelings. Immerse yourself in the head. Try not to think, only feel. Don't remind yourself about other matters, do not guess what will happen next, and not recidivate how to improve what you have now.
- Perform continuous monitoring of their pessimistic mood and thoughts. As soon as you feel that fall into a pessimistic mood, use a method called FA-We-Re-Up-E. Here "f" is the actual reality, "We," your unhappy thoughts about this, "Re" is the result of these thoughts, "Before" arguments calm mind, "e" - energy shake-up. See how, knowing all the important components of an unpleasant event, you can dispel the decadent mood and cheer up. The most reliable way to refute the pessimistic arguments to show that they are not true.
Don't forget that strengthening hopes promotes the ability to find permanent and universal explanations for joyful events and temporary, private for trouble. A positive emotional state is only the first step in this serious personal work, leading to sustainable happiness and well-being. Happiness is not only to multiply pleasant momentary pleasure (although they give strength for further movement). For true happiness requires genuine life, which implies that positive feelings and spiritual satisfaction should be achieved by the implementation of our own merits. Thus, the identification and development of positive qualities in oneself is the next and not the last step on this path.
