TV for a child is much more dangerous than you imagine

TV for a child is much more dangerous than you imagineScientists from the University of Michigan (USA) argue that TV is harmful to children is much more than is commonly believed.

A study of 111 children aged 3 to 8 years showed that the longer a child is watching TV, the higher his blood pressure, writes sunhome.ru

Children who daily sit in front of the television from 90 to 330 minutes, both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by 5-7 points higher than those who spend watching TV less than an hour a day.

Such a negative impact TV has on children with excess weight, and kids of normal weight. Other types of sedentary activities (reading and playing computer games) have no such effect. Scientists explain this by the fact that few child sits in front of the TV, not taking anything to eat. Inspired by transfer, small viewer unconsciously absorbs a lot more chips, hamburgers or hot dogs, than at the table. And since this "junk" food contains a lot of salt, your blood pressure increases.

The results of the study indicate that the TV is the worst of all possible types of sedentary pastime.

Video games and Internet surfing much less harm, because during these sessions, the child makes at least some movement, for example, fidgets in the chair with impatience or changes the position of the body.

Recall also that children spend watching television more than two hours per day, twice the area at risk of developing asthma. It is also known that sedentary behavior in children changes occur in the lungs, which then causes breathlessness.
