American scientists from Vanderbilt University in new York studied the beneficial properties of the grapefruit. In the course of the research they concluded that freshly squeezed grapefruit juice or half a grapefruit before a meal can help to avoid weight gain, and to part with your existing excess weight.
In the study, researchers studied obese patients who voluntarily agreed to conduct experiments.
It was found that those patients who regularly drank a day in half a Cup of grapefruit juice, or eat half of a grapefruit, was able to significantly lose weight. Moreover, it is important that the use of this fruit have been to three main dining dishes. Patients significantly decreased weight, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference.
It is reported that after 14 days of this experiment, subjects were able to lose about 7% of the weight. This is equivalent to 7 extra kilograms.
