In Ukraine for a month already tense debate on the topic "do we need students netbooks": some people complain about the high cost of the technique, others praise technological progress. But while mere mortals just annoyed the highest echelons of power have begun to attract foreign investors.
Each student on the netbook
In late February of this year in Ukraine approved the "Open world" project, which involves the creation of the school of information 4G network, full computerization of schools, as well as the transition from conventional textbooks on netbooks.
Yes, of course, without a computer anywhere today, but because the idea interesting and progressive, but the catch is that our country is not able to provide more than 6, 5 million students with their own equipment. In this situation most of all lucky the most advanced students, according to the plan, will provide a system of discounts, up to free. 1, 5-2 million students will be able to purchase netbooks costing up to 2 thousand UAH. under the scheme of interest-free loan. As for the other "lucky", the interest rate on the loan for them to be confirmed. How to buy expensive equipment, given the fact that according to the state statistics Committee of Ukraine the average salary of a Ukrainian is 2297 UAH., it is not clear.
A bit easier financial side of the issue Sabbath agreement between Ukraine and Vietnam telecommunications company, according to which IT is a monster to invest in the Ukrainian educational system is about $ 600 million for the laying of broadband Internet access in length 60 thousand km and purchase 1, 5 million netbooks. However, the agreement will be implemented for five years...
But let's forget the cost and the possibility to purchase netbooks and think about whether they actually care?
Netbooks: "for" and "against"
To begin, consider all the positive aspects of the transition to electronic media.
We at nature
How sad to realize, but Ukrainians wasteful. We don't think about tomorrow, and therefore, cutting down the miles of forest, not put for each recycled tree or two, nothing sadim. So, of course, replacing the usual electronic textbooks will allow the state to save hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of wood annually.
In step with the times
For anybody not a secret that every day more and more information, and the printed word has not kept pace with e -.
Unloading for teachers
Few people think about how much time teachers spend on checking homework and preparation for lessons, especially during the final test. New computer programs will give you the opportunity to save time not only students but also teachers.
The pros we called, the queue for the "cons".
Health, first of all?
That wouldn't be telling other scientists, and prolonged eye strain as computers can not pass unnoticed. So, for example, in highly industrialized Japan in 90% of the population myopia. Moreover, few of the younger generation often follows the saying "all's well that in moderation" and therefore will the children be limited to acceptable health time at the computer? Hardly.
Farewell, books!
Remembering the picture of the trolley 10 years ago, each of us before the eyes of the passengers, in the hands of almost every of which book. Today, views lion's share of the population in most cases directed to the phones. But if the older generation though sometimes it opens the "well of knowledge", then for young people it is a real nuisance. It is therefore possible that the full computerization of the educational process will lead to a complete rejection of books.
Who will teach?
The question is probably not last in importance, after all, going today in the average school, pay attention to the percentage of young cadres with "experienced". But the problem is that few want to be a teacher, and that those now at the helm of knowledge, not an expert in computers and don't particularly want to learn new science.
And again... where's the money?
Not the last disadvantage of this dubious enterprise with netbooks is the financial side of the question. Yes, of course, the parents promise 5-year loans with monthly payments of $ 34 USD, but you cannot forget that it is unlikely to stop at that amount. Not uncommon today, in my opinion, stolen phones for profit, and what to say about netbooks, which is more expensive. In addition, the technique has the unpleasant property from time to time to break down, especially in inexperienced hands.
At last, perhaps, is to stop and to understand the advantages and disadvantages of netbooks, though this time it was technical.
Yes or no "technical" look
The netbook is pretty portable device, it takes up little space and, respectively, to transport it much easier. In addition, the long netbooks running on battery and not much working. Accessories for netbooks are several times cheaper than, for example, similar to laptops.
As there is no silver lining, so good without bad does not happen, but because of technical deficiencies in netbooks not less than merit.
First of all I must say that in netbook computers there is no CD-ROM drive, and they have few USB ports. No less downside is the small screen and small uncomfortable spaced keys on the keyboard. As a result, the quality of image and sound netbooks, to put it mildly, not very. But, as we wrote, although the details for netbooks are cheaper notbecause, the repair (again because of the size) is time-consuming and somewhat painful process.
And still: to be or not to be?
Of course, in our country democracy, and no one has the right to force parents to buy netbooks. But it is unlikely you will have the choice, if most of the peers your child will be "toy", which he can only dream of, and to issue only for you textbooks hardly anyone will. So, whether you like it or not, your choice without a choice you have already made.
