Renowned American actress Angelina Jolie today was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Sarajevo.
The city Council of the Bosnian capital was awarded her the title for "preserving the memory of the events of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina". As expected, may 3, Jolie arrives in Sarajevo to participate in the ceremony: she will be awarded the diploma of honorary citizen.
The Bosnian capital annually receives this honor a foreigner, who, according to local authorities, has made a significant contribution to the development of the ideas of humanism, democracy and tolerance.
