We meet together for Halloween!

We meet together for Halloween! October 31 English-speaking countries celebrate all Hallows eve-Halloween.

The roots of this holiday goes back to the traditions of the ancient Celts of Ireland and Scotland.
There are prerequisites that type of Halloween most likely originated with the emergence of the Celtic pagan festival Samhain. The name of the holiday comes from the old Irish word Samhain, which means "end of summer" and later became the Gaelic name for the month of November.

According to the Oxford dictionary of folklore, Samhain was a festival at the same time for all the peoples of the British Isles and were associated with death and the supernatural. At the same time, there is no evidence that in pagan times the feast was to have any special significance, except agricultural and seasonal. Traditionally it is believed that the perception of Samhain as a dark pagan holiday that is associated with the dead, owes its existence to the Christian monks of the X-XI centuries, who wrote about him after about two centuries after the approval of all saints Day and after about four hundred years after the adoption of Ireland to Christianity. At the same time, already in the eighth century all saints Day is starting to replace Samhain; the incorporation of the Gaelic traditions and Catholic rites begin to form the beginnings of a future Halloween.

The main symbol of the holiday is the so-called Lamp Jack. He is a pumpkin, which carved out an ominous chuckling face; the inside of the pumpkin is placed a lighted candle. For the first time, "Jack light" appeared in the UK, but originally for their manufacture used a Swede or turnip. It was believed that this fruit left in all saints Day around the house, to ward off from him evil spirits. When the tradition of celebrating Halloween has spread in the United States, the lamps were made of pumpkins, more accessible and cheap.

Enough attention was paid to this holiday and in culture. You may recall the cult TV series "Halloween"consisting of 10 films in the slasher genre, tells the story of serial killer named Michael Myers. Events each part of the film takes place on the eve of the holiday. Original creative finds the Director and the author of the film John carpenter has had an enormous influence on the development of the genre, and brought the carpenter's fame as one of the best Directors of horror films.

One of the pioneers of speed metal and power metal is a German band Helloween. The band's founder Kai Hansen chose a similar name in honor of the holiday and he made the Candlestick of Jack the mascot of the group. The band name is written through e, not a, to make a reference to Hell (eng. hell)

And finally a bit of humor:)

Step 5: When the pumpkin has gained its face, it's time to start lighting. The bright light can be obtained by using electrovalency - Almaty around her small banks and put inside the pumpkin (as garland is connected to electricity, the hole in the pumpkin should be on the bottom, so that the cord was not visible).

Also you can place a candle (or candles) to the inside of the pumpkin - put a candle in glass Cup and leave the top of the pumpkin open for ventilation. Another alternative may be a small flashlight.
