Bisexual prone to alcoholism and depressionA new study conducted in the United States, suggests that bisexual women are more prone to depression and alcohol abuse than bisexual men, according to Pink News.


Researchers from George Mason University found that the tendency to depression and alcohol abuse inherent in all bisexual Teens, regardless of gender. However, as they grow older in men, the risk is reduced, while women are left unchanged.




Scientists also found that women who consider themselves heterosexual or homosexual, are less prone to depression than those who consider themselves bisexual. These women said that they feel "invisible". The study considered sexual identity, behavior and attraction. These characteristics were compared with the health problems of the respondents.




Study leader Lisa Lindley (Lisa Lindly) said: "There is a tendency or standard of what man takes one sexual identity and remains with her. I think there is a huge misunderstanding of what it means bisexuality. It seems that the risks to their health exist because of the stigma".




The results of the research scientists at George Mason University published in the journal "American Journal of Public Health".
