5 April in Kyiv teacher's House took place the premiere of performance "SMIC" Children of the British theatre. The Director of the play was Adam Ferguson, who is known for such plays as "Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix", "Mary Poppins" and "the Choir". The plot of the musical based on the novel by Charles Dickens the Life and adventures of Nicholas Nickleby".
Events in the play take place in Victorian England in a school for the poor, where children live in appalling conditions: sleep they have on the floor in the classroom, there is spoiled food, drink no more than a SIP of milk a day. The evil headmaster Mr Squires doing everything possible to pull the last penny of the parents of poor children, but not to spend money especially on their content. The situation changes drastically when the school comes to work, a young gentleman Nicolas Nickleby. The young teacher makes an indelible impression of a little boy named CMYK, whose parents died, and he became virtually a slave to the family of the Director. Nicholas realizes that so go on no longer, and because it is his duty to save the children.
Inexperienced audience, first and foremost, the play will be surprised with the diversity of the cast. It seemed that the performance was attended by all age categories of the British school. But despite the difference in age, everything from small to large, equally well sang, danced and played their roles (in English! ). Of course, small blots were (someone ran the wrong way or jumped the wrong time), but they simply do not pay attention when they see what work has been done by each of the children in order to accurately convey the image of their role.
Especially pleased with Miroslav Dobrosynskyi that of good-natured boys managed on the stage to transform into a vile and hypocritical Mr. Squirte. The audience believed that this evil school principal there is nothing more important than profit.
Unsurprisingly brilliant game Ivan Shatunova known for last year's production of "Oliver". It only remains to add that singing by the talented young actor was a sheer pleasure to the viewer. By the way, Ivan dreams of becoming a real actor, so he has all the makings of a, so it remains only to wish him good luck.
Returning to the theme of "singing", we should mention a very touching and emotional song performed by the main character of Smike, the role played by 9-year-old Andrew Spencer.
And the little "Michael Jackson", as Herman Lemesh was named in his address of thanks Adam Ferguson (Director of the play), and even introduced all present in a state of shock with their level of professionalism on the part of the singing seemed impossible such quality and clean singing at such an early age.
In General, the performance made a good impression. Such performances make us think about how often we are silent when we ought to do. Like the young Nicolas Nickleby, we should not be afraid to help those in need of our help, and then maybe it will make the world a little kinder.
Recall that British children's theatre for the second time pleases the Kyiv audience with their performances on the basis of the work of Charles Dickens in the original language. Last year the young actors were preparing the musical "Oliver" based on the novel "Oliver Twist", which was also a success.
