Yandex acquired office phantasmagoria

Office search engine "Yandex " is located in Saint-Petersburg in the business centre at the Sverdlovskaya embankment since 2008. Due to the constant expansion of the company, the employees already occupied two floors with a total area of more than 6,000 sq m


According to "The Village", all new interiors has developed architectural Studio ZaBor. They also did the artwork for the first part of the office.




Project architects Peter Zaitsev and Arseniy Borisenko used the so-called corridor-Cabinet system: negotiation, jobs, areas for informal communication, designed for two or three people, and unusual objects placed along the long passage.




In the design used interface elements of "Yandex". General visitors are greeted by the usual "Search" button and the yellow arrow is an informal company logo, the biggest item on the search page. Following the corridors, staff and guests see on the walls of the familiar fields for entering username and password on the street symbols and pictograms services.




Although not all learn them with ease, as miniature pixel icons turned into many-pixel objects. According to the authors of the project, bright colors should help to Orient visitors and not to be bored workers.




Many large items only at first glance seem to be decorative. Spiral, for example, to separate the area of informal communication from the corridor, and in hours-Medusa, cast polymer, hides station network printers.




In the offices of "Yandex" the work goes on around the clock, so the architects have provided a wide recreation area for employees. It includes a gym and yoga room, a dining room, a shower, some coffee points, medical and massage rooms. In addition, there are two well-equipped lecture hall. Most office furniture - Herman Miller and Walter Knoll.




In the decoration of the office used environmentally friendly and fire-resistant synthetic materials: special linoleum and Wallpaper that covered the dining room, the library, and complex polygonal objects in the corridor. Ceilings - white beams running down the walls. They help to absorb the sound in the room along with absorbent materials.
