Tower bridge was built in 117 years ago

Today marks the 117 years since the construction of "London bridge".


In the second half of the 19th century because of increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the port area in the East End there was a question about the construction of a new terminal - "London bridge".




Construction began in 1886, and already 30 June 1894, was completed.




Today, the famous bridge is the symbol of London and the main terminal, on which the daily moves the endless stream of cars and pedestrians. And at certain hours a bridge extendible to skip the larger ship.
